FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

MAKEUP FAQs

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Yes! I will come to the location, but I do have a travel fee. In order to travel, my team and I need to pack up 100 pounds of equipment each. Drive to the location. We unpack and set it all up. We work. Afterwards, we will need to break down and drive back to my studio :) It’s a ton of work! We are, however, happy to do it!

DO YOU HAVE A LOCATION?

Yes! I have a studio in my home located in Sparta, NJ that I welcome all my girls to!

DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM HEADCOUNT?

I do not! I do ask my brides of 3 heads and under to be flexible with me on their wedding day.  I am happy to take a small headcount, but if I can also help another bride on the same day, I will. This means being open to me coordinating your timing with another bride

CAN I HAVE MY MAKEUP DONE AND STILL LOOK LIKE MYSELF?

YES.  I like to say, I pride myself on making you feel as comfortable as possible.

I am personally inclined to stick with a natural glamorous look, but can achieve whatever you're looking for.  The application is about YOU, not about me.  I really take the time to understand what exactly you're looking for before I even start.

WILL I BREAK OUT AFTER AN APPLICATION?

I am a skincare consultant. The application starts before we even start using makeup. I prepare your skin to receive the makeup optimally with preventative and corrective skincare products.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

I only use luxury products. I encourage my clients to check my kit. You are paying for a high end experience and I spend top dollar on my kit to ensure you are getting just that. There are no drug store products in my kit.

I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN, WHAT IF I’M ALLERGIC?

In my kit, Tarte and Clinique can be found for my sensitive gals. I’m happy to do an allergy test before the application! I have been the “rashy kid” my entire life. Another life mission for me is trouble-shooting eczema, rosacea, psoriasis. I’ve got it all!

WHAT KIND OF LASHES DO YOU USE?

I LOVE false lashes, but the key is to make sure they are REAL hair. Synthetic is shiny, uncomfortable...and very unnatural looking.

I only use real hair lashes. They give the appearance of a very healthy, FULL, lash. I also use allergy free glue...hypoallergenic, latex free.

HOW LONG DOES AN APPLICATION TAKE?

A bridal application takes approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes.  The bride is up close and personal with a ton of HD cameras all day. Perfection is key!

Bridesmaids take about 30 minutes. I still prep their skin with lotions etc, but I don’t do facials on them or fine tune the way I would with the bride.

AS A BRIDE, DO I NEED ALL THE STEPS YOU INCLUDE IN YOUR BRIDAL PACKAGE?

YES. I prepare my packages so that your skin is in optimal condition to receive the makeup flawlessly, hold the makeup up all day, and then does not break-out after the wedding. The bells and whistles aren’t just for fun, they are necessary to ensure a flawless application.

DO YOU WORK ON ALL ETHNICITIES?

Absolutely. I have worked with women of all colors, sizes and ages. I ensure my kit includes product for all shades and skin types.

DO YOU DO “JUST EYES” APPLICATION?

I do NOT, mainly because….it takes about the same amount of time and the look never works.  You get residual fall-out from shadows and if you don’t know how to clean that up...you will end up looking a MESS.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR FLOWER GIRLS?

I do this complimentary. I have two little girls and they LOVE being included with “the big girls”. I always ask mom for permission before I put anything on their little faces and use only vegan products on the kids. Blush, lip gloss, a little mascara and some shimmer is the most often used for the littles.

HOW MANY FACES CAN YOU DO ALONE?

I can handle 10 on my own.

DO YOU HAVE OTHER ARTISTS IF I HAVE MORE THAN 10 FACES?

Yes! I have a large team of super talented women. I have a plethora to choose from, from high glam to natural artists.

DO YOU ONLY DO WEDDINGS?

Oh dear lord, no - I do it all! Photography makeup (modeling, boudoir, family photos), event makeup, prom, black tie. Whatever you need, I’ve got you!

I’M NOT AN EARLY RISER.  DO I HAVE TO GET UP EARLY?

This depends on the time your photographer is arriving, your total headcount and overall schedule of your day.

If your photographer is coming at 12:00 and you have 8 faces, this means we will need to start at 6:00am. When you book your ceremony and your photographer, this is definitely something to consider.

HAIR FAQs

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY TRIAL?

Please bring any hair accessories, pictures, veil, and extensions.

SHOULD I HAVE MY HAIR DIRTY OR CLEAN?

Please come with your hair a day dirty. Most brides get their hair done the day before for rehearsal dinner so we ask that your hair be a day dirty for the trial so i can see how your hair holds.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY HAIR TRIAL?

Trails are an hour long. During your trial I will try to achieve your desired look. Your trial will help me to determine the time needed for the day of the event as well as understanding your hair type and texture. (if your hair holds a curl or washing the day before doesn’t work)

Please keep an open mind that everyone’s hair is very different. That’s why we do a trial. We will discuss what works best with your hair and play around with the style and pictures you have shown me. I will then take notes and have your style perfect for the day of your event.

CAN I USE PINTEREST TO SHOW WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR?

Pinterest photos are great for ideas but they are not always exactly achievable. Most photos are just from the back, not showing the client the front look. The back photo may be perfect but the front view will not be something you would like.

Please keep an open mind that most of the photos are done with hidden extensions and pieces. Also, a look on a blonde will look completely different than a look on someone with darker hair. Before doing the style I will discuss what I think would look best on your textured/ color hair.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON THE WEDDING DAY?

Bridesmaids take 30 minutes per style. I must be aware of extensions prior to the day of to a lot for extra time.

Brides takes about an hour to an hour 15 depending on the style we discussed during the trial. I may need to prep you first than finish later or just do the whole style in one shot.

HOW IMPORTANT IS WEDDING DAY TIMING?

Everyone needs to be on time, with their hair dried, unless they are just getting a blow out. If a bridesmaid is late in my chair then you are late for your wedding. Timing on the day of is everything!
